Harvey Milk Birthday Party w/Sylvester, May 1978

I was asked by Fantasy Records to photograph Harvey Milk’s birthday party in may 1978 because Sylvester, who was on the Fantasy label was going to perform there. Fantasy was going to have some dignitaries at the party to present birthday cake to Harvey. They wanted to have photos of the dignitaries and Sylvester be photographed together for a promotion piece they were going to run. Little did we all know that this would be Harvey Milk’s last birthday and he would be killed in November, 1978.
